How do I go about purchasing a headstone?
Call out to our new indoor headstone showroom on Newry Road, Dundalk, beside Dowdallshill Cemetery. Here our experienced staff will assist you in the entire process. We are open Mon – Thurs 9 – 5.30 pm. , Fri 9 – 5.00 pm , Saturdays 9.30 – 1pm . Our contact phone number is
042-9335519. We can also mail you out a brochure to give you an idea of headstone styles available but we do advise a visit to showroom to see actual headstones set up .
What size is my grave?
Single normally 4’0 wide , double normally 8’0 wide , treble from 10’0 .
What cemetery rules apply?
Is it a lawn cemetery? i.e. one where there are no surrounds around the grave.
Is there a height restriction?
Is there a burial board fee / foundation fee? Some cemeteries impose permission and / or foundation fees for all new headstones being erected in their cemeteries . We will advise you of these fees , apply for the permission on your behalf and add the respective fee to the headstone order. Only when permission is granted can we proceed with your order.
How soon after a burial can I erect a headstone?
Lawn cemeteries facilitate a headstone to be erected immediately – as soon as you wish. When you are allowed a surround around your grave, the headstone and surround can go up immediately. However, we do advise that the grave is not cemented until the ground settles normally at least 4 months. Putting peat moss / clay on the grave will aid the settlement of the grave after burial.
How long does it take to erect a headstone after ordering?
Once the relevant permission has been granted we can proceed with the order. Normally, dependant on availability of material, a headstone will be erected within 4 weeks. We also work towards blessings/ patruns of the cemeteries, anniversaries, birthdays, religious holidays.
What style do I like?
Tall, wide, narrow, short, ornate or simple. Visit our showroom to see the full range.
What colour do I like ?
We offer headstones in polished granite. Colours are premium black, white with speckle, mid grey with speckle, paradiso (pink veined), bahama blue, autumn brown, blue pearl.
Can I select scenes and inscription fonts for my headstone?
Yes. On order when an inscription is given to us in writing we will do a proof of how the lettering will look on your chosen headstone showing different font styles & layouts. We have over 300 emblems so you can personalise your headstone. Only when we receive the proof back signed do we letter your headstone. We will also advise you on lettering colour that will suit best e.g. Black, white, gold, silver paints.
Can I put a photograph / crest / symbol on the headstone?
Yes. We require a copy of a photograph, in colour or black and white. This will be used to prepare a ceramic photograph which can be mounted on to your headstone or accessory. It normally takes 4 weeks. There are various sizes and shapes (oval , rectangular, heart-shaped) available. All football team crests, life emblems are available also.
What options do I have for the inside of the surround?
1. You can cement over the grave and pick from over 10 colours of chippings.
2. You can put a strip across the grave, 2’0 from the top to create a flower bed, with cement and chippings on the rest of the grave.
3. Put rockery netting down on the clay and then put chippings / wood bark down.
4. Put peat moss on the grave.

Payment Terms:
We require a deposit of 50 % of total order amount. Cemetery fees applicable must also be paid in full on the day of order. Final
payment is due within one week of completion of your order. All supply and fit orders include vat @ 13.5 %. Renovation orders must be paid in full at time of ordering.
