Things to consider:
What is the thickness of my existing worktop? Is this thickness available in natural stone?
Normally, yes: Standard thicknesses are 20mm, 30mm and sometimes 40mm thick.
What about my tiles on the back walls?
We do not guarantee that the tiles on your walls will not come off and break. In this case we suggest a granite upstand on back walls the height of one tile. Then you can keep the rest of your tiles if you so wish.
Do I have to replace my sink or hob?
NO. You can keep your existing sink or change it as you so wish. If changing you have to make sure that the new sink will fit in your existing cabinet. When we are templating an existing worktop it is necessary to loosen the worktop from the back walls to take complete measurements to the back walls. Sometimes the removal of existing worktops can throw up problems not identifiable before hand due to how the kitchen was fitted originally and we have no control over this. This is also why we do this at templating stage. Sinks will have to be disconnected and connected by a qualified plumber. Hobs must also be disconnected and connected by a qualified electrician.
